Yes, I know I'm late. Crazy times here at Skinny Devil Music Lab. But....better late than never!
Here we are...January of 2011! Time for another challenge.
For those new to the challenges, it isn't to compete against others. It's to push yourself to greater heights, have some company & inspiration along the way, and a few ideas the help get us focused. For example, you can use this waving of the analytical knife to help organize your goals:
1) Exercise - Set a specific plan or goal(s). Keep us posted weekly (or more) on your progress!
2) Creativity - Music, art, writing, acting...set a goal to complete by month's end. Keep us posted!
3) Personal life - Re-affirm your personal relationships, get to that project/chore you've been avoiding, or just read a book you've always wanted to read!
4) Professional life - Set a work goal or change jobs or....just tell us what it is and keep us posted!
I'll post my goals below, and then provide weekly up-dates...
How about YOU?
Goal met: Seeing Jodie through a successful production of hair in Dec 2011.
ReplyDeleteGoal met: Figuring out how to make a: fifteen foot totem containing various 60's artifacts including a 10x (at least) larger than life Jimi Hendrix effigy head out of paper mache'.
Goal met: The twenty something is EMPLOYED.
Goal met: Successfully supported husband through employment search. He is EMPLOYED.
New goals: assist with a unique and terrifying stage production of Dracula. Coach Jodie on how to be a good cell mate and bride. Figure out how to make things bleed and die.
Appear to bleed and die, I meant. ;) Will attempt to become a mini master of illusion by March.
ReplyDeleteRockin', kiddo! Congrats to all!
ReplyDeleteMy goals......
1) Maintain minimum work-outs amid the chaos of my life.....
2) Glad to be back rehearsing final Alien Blue trax. Get the last of them tight and ready to record in February.
3) Reading collection of "classics" that I'd like to complete before the end of the month. In the midst of "Madame Bovary" right now. Note to self (& others): Don;t ever read Rousseau or Whitman AFTER reading Frederick Douglass. Not if you want to like the 2 former.
4) Organize & prioritize. Too much to do....I think perhaps I should start with much of the small stuff, then go after the web-site re-design.
More producing jobs...more studio gun jobs (guitarist & bassist)...more soundtrack work (but not until other major projects are out of the way).
Glad to hear you're near ready to record. Break a figurative leg.
Delete1) Launched Website in December timfowlerguitar.com
ReplyDelete2) Played first gig of the year, opening for Julia Knight. WHat a treat! That young lady's gonna be a star!(sorry, a bigger star!)

5) Working to get restaurant gigs with first one starting late Jan/early Feb.
6) Writing and learning more pieces to build more repertoire and challenge myself, including one by Andy McKee.
7) Family Is dong great. Kristen is one year cancer free. Woo Hoo! Sarah is in Footloose at Dunbar. Natalie in UK String Project playing violin.
